What I see when I first look at this piece is that it's supposed to be an exercise in simplicity. And I like it for that. I think it helps that it remains uncolored (although pale, unobtrusive colors would have worked as well) and that the figure itself is very simple in construction. If I had to give one point of criticism, it's that the hair is way too busy compared to everything else, and that my attention immediately goes there. I think it would work out better if the hair had less detail and if you judiciously applied shading techniques to it in order to give it the depth that it needs to be believable. To a lesser extent, the shading could be a bit more believable, but it doesn't detract at all from the overall piece.
I very much like the finished product. It's very cute and nice to look at. Good job overall.
